Standing Together

Those that have lost their jobs may need to find other people and places where they can talk about it.   Discussion, support and action groups are a way that residents can Standing Together through these tough times.

Skills Bank

It is no secret that Elkhart County has been hit particularly hard in the last two years. The Skills Bank is designed as a “People helping People” solution to the devastating job losses that we have seen. The Skills Bank works by giving unemployed/ underemployed people a way to earn supplemental income by using the skills that they posses to connect with others in Elkhart County who have a need for those skills. By filling out the “I Have Skills!” form, you will be entered into a skills database where others, by filling out the “I Need Skills!” form you can search through the Skills Bank to find you by the skills you have listed. This is not a system meant to replace full time jobs, but rather as an opportunity for local people with work to be done can go to connect with someone with the skills they are looking for.
